The Angstel River

The Angstel is a river with a pretty strong current between Abcoude and Loenersloot with a length of approximately 6 km. The Angstel links the Gein and the Holendrecht river with the Aa river. Towards the South of Abcoude it forms a connection with the Winkel. The Angstel river flows in the West of the Amsterdam – Rhine channel.

Initially the Angstel river was a creek of the Utrechtse Vecht. Nowadays
it indicates the border of the borough of De Ronde Venen.
